Well another school year has come and gone. With the final announcement for student dismissal to the buses, the students filed out of the school and teachers prepared for a traditional mini celebration. Armed with music makers teachers line the front walk as loaded buses take extra laps around the Circle so the teachers can send them off with a joyful farewell. It is one of my favorite traditions at our school. It truly sets the tone for the kick off to summer.

The end of the year is always bitter sweet. Everyone is more than ready for a break and to reenergize for another school year, but it is a bit sad sending students off to the next grade.
This year I have more mixed feelings about the end of the school year as I will be leaving 3rd grade and teaching 2nd grade next year. While I am excited for new curriculum and the chance to work with new colleagues, I am heartbroken to leave my 3rd grade team. I have learned so much over the last three years teaching 3rd grade. I have also worked with some of the best teachers I could hope for. Transitioning my classroom to the other side of the building will be a big change for next year. I know it will be great, and I look forward to all 2nd grade has to offer me. But first it is time for some summer travel!
