Countdown to Finland

I can’t believe it is almost here! Summer vacation is right around the corner and I couldn’t be more ready for it. Next week is the last week of school, so come Friday afternoon summer officially begins. There is a lot packed into next week so I am sure it will fly by. What is crazy though is that with only 16 days until I take off for Helsinki I haven’t begun packing yet! Usually by this time before a trip I would have packed, repacked and been ready for a triple check that I have everything. The end of this school year has been so busy and there has been so much happening after school, that I am way behind the ahead of schedule pace I like. Therefore, this weekend I am in full travel prep mode!

There is so much to do to get ready for this trip that sometimes I am not sure where to begin. Packing and laying out clothes is a must, as well as printing all my confirmations and bookings. I don’t think I can handle another travel dream where I don’t have everything I need. Maybe if I take care of these two things I will sleep better at night.

Next on the to do list is to finish going through my Finland travel book. There are so many things to do and see and I don’t want to miss a thing. I have also picked up some great suggestions of places to see and where to eat from Mrs. Suvi’s blog. She is my go to for all things Helsinki! Then of course there is also Pinterest. I have been pinning and pinning, I think it might actually be time to read some of the sites I have pinned to see what tips they have.

Once my bags are packed (or at least laid out) and my itinerary started, I will be at ease with this upcoming trip. All that will be left to do is practice my Finnish and memorize some key survival phrases. I can’t wait to get to Finland, and thrilled to meet my family in Turku! Minä olen innostunut!
